MICHELLE STEIN SPIRA was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She graduated from Cleveland State University cum laude with a degree in Political Science with a Pre-Law focus. During college, Michelle was twice awarded Outstanding Scholar Athlete; she was a college varsity cheerleader, was elected to the Student Misconduct Peer Review Board, served as a Peer Tutor for the athletic department, and was awarded the Political Science Departmental Scholarship. She was honored to serve as an intern to the minority Whip of the Ohio House of Representatives, Jane Campbell.
Michelle attended Law School at the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in Cleveland, Ohio. During law school, Michelle was a member of the Dean’s List, and was named as a Law Alumnae Scholar, and a Dean’s Scholar. Michelle assisted underprivileged area youth by volunteering as a tutor through the Help One Student to Succeed program. Michelle also served as Assistant Coach to the Cleveland State University Varsity Cheerleading squad. In 1998, Michelle was certified to practice law in Ohio.

In 2000, Michelle relocated to Melbourne, Florida with her husband, and was certified to practice law in Florida in 2001. Michelle joined the law firm of Dean Mead in 2001 as an associate, practicing in the areas of construction and guardianship. In 2005, Michelle joined the law firm of Spira, Beadle and McGarrell, expanding her practice to include construction, probate administration, trust administration, guardianship, and associated elder law matters. In 2020, Michelle Stein Spira and Stephen E. Spira founded The Spira Law Group, P.A.

Michelle currently practices in the areas of elder law, guardianship, construction, and probate and trust administration. Michelle is a current member of the Florida Bar’s Elder Law and Real Property, Probate & Trust sections, and is a member of the Brevard County Bar Association. She is active in the Florida State Guardianship Association’s Space Coast chapter. Michelle previously served on the Florida Bar Committee on Unauthorized Practice of Law, Circuit 18-A, and was a member of the Vassar B. Carlton American Inn of Court. She also previously served as the Education Chair and member of the Board of Trustees of Temple Beth Sholom in Melbourne. Michelle was a charter member of the Golden Providers elder care service providers specialty group. Michelle remains active in Brevard County’s elder law-focused organizations and charitable entities serving Brevard County.
